Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 September 2026
This policy explains what information is collected when you use Convert-Top (convert-top.com), how it is used, and the choices you have. Convert-Top is a free unit conversion website; you do not need an account, and we never ask you for your name, address or payment details.
Information we collect
Values you type into converters
Conversions are calculated in your browser. The numbers you type into a converter are not sent to our servers or stored.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically records technical information when pages are requested: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. These logs are used to keep the site secure and working, and are kept for a limited period.
Cookies and similar technologies
Convert-Top itself does not set cookies to identify you. However, the advertising and analytics services described below may use cookies, web beacons, local storage and device identifiers when you visit, as explained in the next sections.
Advertising
Convert-Top is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google LLC (and, for users in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google Ireland Limited), to show ads on our pages.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info (US) or www.youronlinechoices.eu (EU).
- If you opt out of personalized advertising, you will still see ads, but they will be based on the content of the page rather than on your interests.
Google may also work with other certified ad networks and vendors. You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and about the cookies Google uses for advertising at Google's advertising policies.
Analytics
We may use Google Analytics and Google Search Console to understand how visitors find and use the site, for example which converters are most popular and which pages load slowly. These services collect information such as pages visited, time on page, approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. The reports we see are aggregated and do not identify you personally.
You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Consent for visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message (provided through Google's certified consent management platform) will ask whether you agree to cookies and the processing of personal data for advertising and measurement. You can accept, reject or choose specific purposes, and you can change your choice at any time using the privacy settings link shown on the site. If you do not consent, you may still see non-personalized or limited ads.
The legal bases for processing are your consent (for personalized advertising and analytics cookies) and our legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving the website (for server logs).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Because we do not collect personal data directly, most requests are best made to Google through its Privacy Policy and account tools.
California and other US states
Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws may have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. You can exercise this right through Google Ads Settings and the opt-out tools above, or through a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser where supported.
Children
Convert-Top is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Links to other websites
Our pages and ads may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example if we add new services. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
